(CMR) According to Offshore Alert the owner of UniRegistry Corporation corporate entities are the subject of a lawsuit being brought by his wife who is seeking documentation.
It reports that:
The wife of Cayman Islands-based, Canadian/Caymanian domain name entrepreneur Frank Schilling is suing two of his companies in an attempt to obtain corporate “data and documents” to which she claims to have been illegally denied access.
Michele Schilling filed separate actions against Name Administration Inc. and UniRegistry Corp., which are both “engaged in the business of internet domain name sales and administration”, at the Grand Court of the Cayman Islands on November 22nd.
Schilling, described as “a citizen and resident of the Cayman Islands”, was “a director” of each company and, in that capacity, “entitled to receive and inspect copies of the accounts, books, and records … and financial information”, it was stated in each originating summons.
“On various dates and times between 6 October 2017 and 15 November 2018 the Plaintiff and her representatives have sought access to information about the Defendant and to certain Accounts, Books and Records of the Company, which the Defendant has refused or failed to supply.
“The Accounts, Books and Records are required by the Plaintiff as director for the purposes of enabling her to exercise her rights and obligations as a director and in particular to consider transactions or potential transactions which are under contemplation by the Defendant's management, to review and if necessary investigate the affairs of the Defendant, and to enable her to be fully and fairly informed as to the business and financial position of the Company and the potential transactions in which it is involved.”
Schilling is represented by Maples and Calder law firm.
Research by OffshoreAlert shows that Name Administration Inc. and UniRegistry Corp. were formed in Cayman as exempt companies on June 22nd, 2005 and September 20th, 2010, respectively. Their registered agent is Bodden Corporate Services Ltd.
Frank Schilling, 49, is generally described in media articles as a domain name pioneer and one of the most successful domain name investors.
Uni-registry' offices are located in Governors Square on Seven Mile Beach across from the Governor's House. He manages the local .ky domain management.
