ST JAMES, Jamaica — Smugglers continue to get more creative by hiding ganja in the most unlikely of places.
Compressed ganja, weighing approximately 240 pounds, was found in cans labelled “ackee” and “breadfruit” at the Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, St James Thursday night.
The police said the cans were found about 8:30 pm in10 carton boxes, which were left unattended in a luggage container.
According to the lawmen, security personnel were conducting checks at the airside of a Condor Flight destined to Munich, Germany when they saw the boxes, each containing 24 cans.
The drug is estimated to value $1.2 million on the street. No one was arrested. The Narcotics Police are investigating.
